In December, expert McDevitt & Kline affiliate Romo Incentives Group (RIG) reported that “the Federal Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit has been retroactively and permanently extended."

RIG explains, "Signed into law by the President on December 18, 2015, the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act (“PATH”) has permanently and retroactively extended the Federal R&D Tax Credit for tax years starting after December 31, 2014. The credit previously expired on December 31, 2014 and was pending retroactive renewal for nearly a year along with other tax incentives.”

RIG also reported on the renewal of the Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (“WOTC”) program, which has been renewed for “an unprecedented five-year period through December 31, 2019," and is "retroactive to its previous expiration on December 31, 2014."

RIG also went on to say that "all paperwork submitted within 28 days of employees’ 2015 hire dates can now be reviewed for qualification by State Workforce Agencies (WOTC Centers).”
