Introduction to Management (Self-Study) 1 CPE (For PA CPAs Only)

This is an introductory management course that lays the foundation for our management series of self-study, on demand, CPE modules. To begin this course, William Kline, Ph.D., discusses ways key decision makers can view an organization. Mr. Kline then discusses the management process (strategy, implementation, performance) and sets the stage for future management courses. By understanding the core concepts in this course, key decision makers should have a better understanding of organizational dynamics and should be more responsive to changing market conditions.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify the likely perspective of a firm given one’s functional background.
  • Explain why it is important to understand the many views of a firm.
  • Examine and review the 3 main categories in the management process.
  • Identify the two groups that serve as the “dominant coalition” in a firm.
  • List the key topics/concepts in each category in the management process.
